Leopards returned to Brentwood on Sunday, but went into the game against the Derby storm without the services of guard Rod Brown who had failed to recover from injury.

Nevertheless with Dave Attewell available, Leopards had more than enough firepower to trouble the Derby Storm.

Leopards opened their account with a inside basket from Rico Alderson and a three point shot from Jason Kimbrough.

The Deby coach was clearly unhappy and called a time out within the opening two minutes, it was however to no avail as Leopards surged further ahead leading 10-0 before the Storm got onto the scoresheet.

Nevertheless the visitors battled back and as the first quarter closed they had taken the lead 21-23.

The Derby lead was in fact shortlived as Ravonte Dantzler starting in place of the injured Rod Brown tied the game at 23-23.

Seconds later Leopards received a blow with a face injury to Martin Henlan.

When Rico Alderson was forced off court with a blood injury , the Leopards bench resembled an accident and emergency department, fortunately the remaining players responded and in the last twenty seconds of the half Darren Mills drained a three point shot and Carl Miller went to the basket as the clock ran down to ensure that the Kool Kats carried a seven point advantage(45-38) into the second half.

A patched up Martin Henlan returned to court at the start of the third quarter.

The minutes that followed determined the game. The Leopards went on a 13-0 run with three "three pointers" two from Kimbrough and one from Dantzler.

With 7:35 left in the quarter Leopards led by twenty, and they ensured that they kept this difference in tact throughout the quarter.

At the end of the third period the score was 77-57 and leopards were firmly in control.

As much as the Storm tried to reduce the arrears, Leopards were in no mood to relinquish control.

With two minutes remaining a passing move between Rico Alderson and Darren Mills, saw the young leopard take the score over the hundred point mark.

By the end of the game the difference stood at 27 points.

The Leopards' points scorers were: Jason Kimbrough 22, Ravonte Dantzler 1, Rico Alderson 19, Mo Robinson 16, Martin Henlan 6, Carl Miller 10, Dave Attewell 4, Darren Mills 7.

All focus will be on Sunday's league encounter with Southern Conference rivals Birmingham Bullets at the Brentwood Centre. The game tips off at 5pm at the Brentwood centre.
