NHS organisations are teaming up with a local partnership co-ordinated by Sure Start Tilbury to promote job opportunities for local people.
The day takes place on Friday, April 12, from 10am to 2.30pm at St Andrew's Church Hall.
Members of local NHS trusts who can guide people as to the types of job opportunities available.
Advisers from the Tilbury Job Centre can help with advice on what impact taking a part-time job would have on benefit levels.
The initiative is one of many being planned by Sure Start Tilbury as part of its work on employment and training.
Sure Start has a national target of reducing the number children aged up to three who are living in households where nobody is working by ten per cent.
A multi-agency group has been set up to co-ordinate this work, consisting of representatives from the Job Centre, Tilbury Resource Centre, Thurrock Primary Care Trust, the Broadway Estate and adult education.
