Police today released this e-fit of a man calling himself Stephen Martin who preyed on elderly residents at a Westcliff sheltered housing complex.
He conned his way into the complex by claiming over the intercom system he had catalogues to deliver.
He then stole property from two elderly women while pretending to be a surveyor.

The incidents took place on Monday, February 25, in Imperial Avenue.
A spokesman for Southend police said: "He got in the front door after ringing the intercom buttons until someone let him in."
The man even claimed to be acting on behalf of the managing agents of the housing complex and used their name.
He was white, slim, in his twenties and around 5ft 9ins tall.
He had light coloured short hair, was clean shaven and wore grey jogging trousers, a grey top with an orange stripe and white trainers.
