Canvey Island Rugby Club have been passing on their knowledge to schoolchildren from years five and six as part of an Active Sports programme on the island.
Kevin Cooper and Dave Dennis, both qualified coaches and Canvey first team players, have been introducing schoolchildren to tag rugby -- a non- contact version of the sport.
They have delivered a five-week intruductory coaching programme at Joseph's RC Primary School, William Read Primary School and Winter Gardens Junior School on the island.
Teams will then be invited to attend a tag rugby festival at the club's ground in Dovervelt Road, before moving on to compete in a schools event at Rochford Rugby Club.
