Magistrates look to be on a collision course with pubgoers as landlords compete for World Cup and Golden Jubilee celebration trade.
They are to refuse pubs the right to sell alcohol during early morning televised World Cup games, but will allow extra time for the Jubilee on Monday, June 3.
Just five applications for Jubilee street party road closures have been lodged in the whole Basildon district.
