It was a very satisfied Peterborough boss Barry Fry who readily heaped praise on his players after they dominated the wind-swept clash with Colchester United.
Fry said: "Considering the conditions this was a great performance by my lads. They played throughout with lots of determination and created lots of chances.
"In fact we played so well with the strong wind at our backs in the first half that I was disappointed we were only two goals up at the break."
Fry said that he simply told his players at half-time to make sure Colchester were given little time and room to create any chances in the second period when they were playing with the wind at their backs.
He showered praise on the way his side defended and on his strikers, especially Leon McKenzie and Francis Green, who were very lively and caused Colchester problems all match.
He added: "Overall our play was excellent and we got everything we deserved.
"We played some exceptional football in very poor conditions and were most unlucky not to have won by a lot more goals.
"It was still a great weekend for Posh football."
