Tony Last has been appointed the new manager of Witham Town.
The former Braintree stalwart was handed the job last night and will be in charge for tomorrow's match at home to Corinthian Casuals.
Witham chairman Dave Knott said: "Tony has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the local football scene and we believe he will do a good job.
"The appointment is only until the end of the season when we will review the situation, but if things are going well there is no reason why he shouldn't continue."
Last spent 20 years at Braintree where he filled various roles including first team boss, reserve team boss, physio and youth team coach.
A mini-stroke a few years ago led him to slow things down, but he has since fully recovered and is keen to become more involved in football again.
Knott added: "He read about the sudden departure of Tony Kinsella in the Evening Gazette and contacted us to say he would be keen to take over."
