A Southend factory's exemplary safety record has won a major award.
The 43 disabled staff at the Remploy factory in Sutton Road, who produce electromechanical assemblies - ensured the site went an entire year without an accident of any sort, earning them the organisation's safetycertificate.
Safety first - Remploy's manager at Southend, Mike Wood, receives the safety award from the organisation's South East general manager, Roy Easthope
Manager Mike Wood, who collected the award at regional headquarters in Barking, said: "I am very pleased to accept this on behalf of the Southend factory and will relay this achievement to the employees, who are the real contributors."
