Andrew Braithwaite, the 20 year-old jockey attached to the Sporborg yard at Bishop Stortford, will have happy memories of Horseheath, the Cambridgeshirecourse hosting the Thurlow point-to-point last weekend.

Not only had he ridden his first winner there in February, but followed up with a double last Saturday when scoring on two of the yards' inmates.

Josh's Choice landed a comfortable five length victory in the Maiden, surprising many with a defeat of the Caroline Bailey trained favourite, He's A Lad , in the process.

Alpha Man, who carried Braithwaite to his initial victory last month, played his part again, this time in the Restricted. In a race that included six previous winners this season, the partnership provided the most thrilling finish of the day , prevailing by a head, after a closely fought duel over the last three fences with Andrew Sansome aboard Pampered Gale.

The racing scene shifts this Sunday, March 10th, to one of the more rural yet most popular tracks in East Anglia . The Easton Harriers host the fixture at High Easter racecourse, just north of Chelmsford and 129 entries have been recieved for the seven race card that commences at noon.
