STAFF at Basildon and Southend Hospitals were celebrating today after scoring five stars each in a guide to hospital services across the UK. The two Essex hospitals featured in The Mail on Sunday's Good Hosptial Guide - which covered every hospital in the country. The top scoring hospitals over all were the Royal London and St Bartholomew's hospitals, which are jointly managed as the Barts and London NHS, the two hospitals both scored ten stars. Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, and Oldchurch Hospital, in Romford, both achieved on star. Full report in Monday's Echo
