Village youngsters have been lending a hand to help brighten up a park produced from a former landfill site.
Pupils from St Osyth Church of England Primary were among volunteers who gathered at Martins Farm Parish Park, off the B1027 between St Osyth and Thorrington, to create a wood.
The 40-acre site is being landscaped with native plants and shrubs for the enjoyment of residents and nature conservation.
The park provides extensive views along Flag Creek.
It has been developed by Essex County Council, Essex Wildlife Trust and St Osyth Parish Council to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
