A private hospital and a professional football club have joined forces to promote essential health issues across north Essex.
The Oaks Hospital, Colchester, and Colchester United's Community Sports Trust have devised a project to give people the chance to attend free exhibitions and talks in villages through societies, with specialist staff, telling the public of specific, and often crucial, health issues.
Michelle Gallifent, acting manager at the Oaks, said: "We feel that this is a great opportunity for private healthcare and industry to join forces on issues such as healthy eating, cancer awareness and osteoporosis in order to give something back to the community.
