Youngsters were treated to a party and £2,000 towards new sensory equipment thanks to popular fast-food restaurant character Ronald McDonald.
Ten children from Thurrock Crossroads, based in Grays, enjoyed a party at McDonald's in Tilbury to celebrate the grant from Ronald McDonald Children's Charities.
Crossroads offers respite care to carers of children with disabilities, as well as holding a Saturday club in Tilbury for disabled children.
The new sensory room will provide a calm but stimulating environment to aid children with communication and behaviour problems.
Crossroads manager Margaret Worrall said: "The sensory room will benefit all children that use it."
