Northlands Park regular Dave Robertson is enjoying a tremendous run of success at the venue, topping his latest haul with a personal best 23lb mirror carp.
Dave fished a swim on the road lake which had produced a personal best 17lb common on his previous trip.
After baiting a small area with Ocean boilie he presented his hair-rigged hook bait amongst them.
Less than two hours later the enormous mirror picked up his bait and set off on a strong run.
It was obviously a big fish, and as Dave slipped the net under it he could see that it was easily a new personal best.
He would have been more than happy with a twenty pounder, and was highly delighted when it pulled the scales needle to 23lbs.
Basildon angler Tony Ridley targeted the carp during the latest Ridley Angling Products Gloucester Park Open and finish the day more than 32lb clear of the field.
Tony fished a swim in the big bay where he netted eight carp and a single roach for 47lb 12oz fishing a quivertip and feeder, and using red maggot baits. He won £80.
