Essex is one of four forces getting new police helicopters thanks to a multi-million pound Government handout
Air support units in Essex, Merseyside, Lancashire and South Yorkshire will each get the cash to boost their operations, using the aircraft to chase criminals, hunt for missing persons and respond to major incidents.
Essex is to receive a total of £1.2 million.
