Chelmsford Borough Council is looking into the possibility of introducing traffic calming measures to a South Woodham Ferrers road after residents complained it has become overloaded with cars.
Clements Green Lane, which is to the north of the town, is a long straight road which cars often use to bypass going though South Woodham and that is causing safety issues for residents.
Residents and town councillors have been pleading with the borough council for the past 10 years to try and get some kind of traffic calming measures installed to cut the speed cars can travel, as often their speed is above the 30 mph limit.
The borough council has started its evaluation of the road in a bid to decide whether to design and implement a traffic-calming scheme.
