Grays comfortably disposed of Kingstonian at Bridge Road on Saturday, running out 2-0 winners.
Athletic are now clear in third place in the Ryman Premier, and it was an entertaining display they gave to dispose of a young but enthusiastic looking K's side.
They had the lead as early as the first minute when Nathan Thomas set up Leon Hunter to volley home impressively.
As the first half progressed, K's shot-stopper Lance Key was called into action to deny Craig Edwards and Mervyn Abrahams.
With little action at the other end, the home side continued to press in the second period, and not aided by the dismissal of defender Hustwick, Grays added to their advantage on 70 minutes as Andy Sussex raced through the centre of the park to plant the ball past Key and secure another three points.
They went close to adding a third in injury time as Alex Fiddes crossed for John Morgan to smack a cross against the crossbar.
