Heybridge were unfortunate to leave the leafy confines of Hampton with a solitary point after the sort of display that merited all three.
Much the better side for large parts of the game, the Swifts took the lead shortly before half-time as Paul Abrahams stooped unmarked at the far post to head home.
Hampton had started well but faded, and that was the pattern for the second half when they somewhat fortunately got back on level terms three minutes after the break.
Top scorer Craig Maskell found space on the right and his cross/shot looped over Matt Greenley to level the scores.
Heybridge had late chances to win the match, with Andy Tomlinson being denied by veteran Stuart McKenzie's legs and Kevin Budge shootly wildly with the goal at his mercy.
The point drops Heybridge to 15th in the Ryman Premier.
