Purfleet climbed to 6th in the Ryman Premier with victory at Harrow Borough on Saturday.
Home goalkeeper Keita Karamoto was recently playing for Mali against Nigeria in front of 50,000 spectators, and looked well worth his international status in this game as he thwarted early waves of 'Fleet pressure, denying Jon Keeling, Paul Linger and Colin Simpson early on.
Karamoto continued his one man show in the second half, and looked to have contributed to a rare three points for the Premier strugglers as John Lawford squared for Ross Fitzsimon to give the hosts the lead on 76 minutes.
Feeling somewhat hard done by, Purfleet rallied, and pulled themselves level on 87 minutes Jimmy McFarlane headed the ball home in a crowded penalty area.
With time ticking away, the visitors sensed a winner could be on the cards, and pushing men forward, Bowes found space in the box to smash home past Karamoto two minutes into injury time.
