A strange craft hovering in the night sky over Marks Tey has left residents asking questions.
Joan Coleman, of Domsey Bank, said she was woken by a loud sound of an engine not long after midnight on Saturday and when she went outside saw something hovering.
She said it had one large white light and one large red light with a small flickering light and a thin beam of light coming down.
But inquiries both with Essex Police and the Civil Aviation Authority have still turned up no explanation to the craft, which Mrs Coleman said sped off at great speed after about half an hour.
"I was surprised at how fast it was, which made me think maybe it was not a helicopter," she added.
