A new processing plant is set to help businesses in Harold and across Havering save money.
The plans were unveiled at a HSBC Business Plus Networking Lunch held in Harold Hill when a guest speaker from Cleanaway limited discussed the plans and the advantages they would bring.
Andrew Olie, disposal, operations and sales manager for Cleanaway spoke to more than 50 leaders of local businesses at the meeting.
He said: "Recycling rubbish and reducing the amount of waste you produce can save your firm a lot of money each year and the time to start planning is now.
"Our nearest landfill site is in Rainham and we are currently building a processing plant so we will be able to offer a recovery service.
"Different types of rubbish will be placed in different coloured bags or containers so when they reach the plant, we will be able to easily sort the items that can be recycled and those to go to landfill."
