New Year party-goers in Brentwood have been warned against using rogue minicabs.
Taxi chiefs are encouraging revellers to stick to licensed black cabs or well-known private hire operators.
In addition, London Buses, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Tramlink have announced their timetables over New Year, giving passengers the option of using public transport if they are heading to London to welcome in 2001.
On December 28, 29 and 30 London Buses will be running a Saturday Service and on New Year's Eve, a Sunday service will operate on day routes with extra night buses coming into action throughout the evening.
There will however, be no buses from Trafalgar Square throughout the night. A Sunday service will run on Monday January 1 with additional buses on selected routes, especially those serving shopping centres.
A reduced weekday service will run on the DLR on December 28 and 29 with a normal Saturday service on December 30 and a Sunday Service on Monday January 1. Passengers should call 020 7363 9700 or 020 7918 4000 for service information on New Year's Eve.
Tramlink will operate normal services on December 28 and 29, a Saturday service on December 30 and Sunday services on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
