A cyclist has been recovering at home after her bike was involved in a collision with a car.
The woman, who had not been named and is in her 50s, was at the junction of Laurel Avenue and Long Meadows in Dovercourt when the accident happened at 7pm on Saturday.
She was taken to Colchester Hospital by ambulance where she was detained overnight before being allowed home on Christmas Eve.
The driver of a Rover car, who has also not been named but was in his 20s, was not injured in the collision.
Traffic police at Thorpe are investigating the incident.
