A lorry driver has told police how he was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced into the boot of a car by raiders who made off with £21,000 of computer equipment he was carrying.
The 28-year-old man from Southend was forced to drive his Renault articulated lorry down a quiet country lane in the middle of the night.
He was bundled into the boot of the raiders's car before being freed an hour later at the side of the busy Sadlers Farm roundabout.
The driver told police he was heading north up the M11 from Loughton to the M25 on Wednesday when a dark coloured Ford Mondeo cut across him and stopped on the hard shoulder.
He was forced at gunpoint to drive to Scotts Hall Lane and then put into the boot of the Mondeo. He was released an hour later.
Inquiries are being carried out by officers from Epping police who can be contacted on 01992 561212 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
