Heybridge Swifts launched themselves into the next round of the Essex Senior Cup when eight different players got on the scoresheet as they ran riot against Chelmsford City.
Admittedly, Chelmsford fielded a weakened side, but so did Swifts, and afterwards, manager Liam Cutbush said: "It shows the difference in strength in depth between the two sides.
"Chelmsford are a young side, but used about five first teamers as did we.
"We did a professional job. We have got standards and we like to keep to them."
Finding the net for Swifts were Colin Wall, Benson Miyoba, Andy Tomlinson, Chris Payne, Terry Warwick, Mark Kane, Joel Rogers and Ian Wiles.
Clacton Town were also among the goals, hitting Halstead Town for five without reply in the Millennium Trophy preliminary round.
Caretaker manager Mick Potter said afterwards: "We played some good stuff. We need to take it on from here and progress up the league."
Chris Senk opened the scoring on 17 minutes and Mitchell Springett made it 2-0 just before the break.
Senk turned on the style after the interval to complete his hat-trick, and Mark Farmer, who came off the bench to replace Wayne Adcock late on, completed the scoring with Clacton's fifth.
Halstead boss Paul Grimsey commented: "I had a few words to say to the players afterwards. We gave the ball away in the wrong areas and paid the price.
"We were without a couple of players, but we can't keep using that as an excuse."
Harwich made it two wins on the trot with a 3-2 triumph at Tiptree in the Jewson League Cup.
Shrimpers boss Andy Clark said: "A lot of people have written us off already and we're determined to prove them wrong. The commitment was fantastic and we could have had more goals."
The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute when Matt Carmichael netted a rebound after a Peter Johnstone strike was parried.
But five minutes before half-time, Tiptree were level when a Steve Daley shot squirmed through keeper Robert Tanner and into the goal.
In the 55th minute, Harwich were back in front when Andy Smith met a far post cross. It was 3-1 soon after when Carmichael was again in the right place to score from a rebound.
Tiptree grabbed a consolation with a 25-yard pile-driver from Andy Brady in the 88th minute.
