The wife of a man seriously injured in a road accident in a Colchester village has called for improvements to be made to the road.
Louise Bradshaw said her 38-year-old husband John was lucky to be alive following the accident on Wednesday when his car was in a collision with a lorry on Rowhedge Road.
Mr Bradshaw underwent a seven-hour operation to a shattered kneecap last night and also has a broken collarbone, smashed hip and three cracked ribs.
