A conman posing as a window cleaner struck in Doddinghurst this week stealing £100 from an 88-year-old woman.
The theft was at 3.30pm on Monday December 18 at Bakers Meadow when the man, complete with bucket and sponge, entered the house and went upstairs where he took the cash, which was in Scottish notes, and a pension and bank book.
The thief is described as white, well built, in his late 20s, early 30s and 5ft 8in tall. He had short, cropped hair and was wearing light coloured clothing.
