Christmas crackdowns on crime in Clacton and Dovercourt have been hailed a success.
Police launched Operation Cracker in a bid to deter shoplifters, thieves and others committing offences in the run-up to the festive period.
Extra officers were sent out on to the streets to help create a safer environment.
The operation was launched on December 9 and so far 16 people have been arrested in the Clacton clampdown.
