Two backpackers feared dead after being missing in Central America for nine months have been found safe and well.
Paul Winder, 29, of Great Baddow, Chelmsford, and Tom Hart Dyke, 24, from Kent, now look set to be home in time for Christmas after being released by their Colombian captors.
The pair travelled to Central America earlier in the year to search for rare orchids, but were kidnapped during a trek in the Darian Gap on the Panama-Colombia border.
Mr Winder, a merchant banker and former pupil of St John Payne School in Chelmsford, and Mr Hart Dyke, a botanist, were reported missing in March, but finally made it out of the jungle two days ago.
