Billericay grabbed victory with two injury-time goals in an amazing Ryman League Premier Division finish at Maidenhead.
Town's chances of adding to their solitary away League win this term looked dead and buried until four minutes into added time when midfielder Paul Linger, back from suspension, rose above the defence to head home his 11th goal of the season from Joe Baker's cross.
Amazingly, however the visitors were not content with a share of the spoils and that man Baker rounded Maidenhead keeper Richard Barnard and shot home the winner before the final whistle.
There were few chances in the opening half during a game which, until an improvement in the weather late in the week, had looked unlikely to go ahead with much of Maidenhead under water during constant rain.
Lee Channel had the best first-half chance, but missed out from close range. However, the homesters, managed by ex-West Ham midfielder Alan Devonshire, dominated early after the break. Matt Glynn had a 20-yard effort saved in style by Billericay goalkeeper Gavin King, but Channel put the home side ahead after 62 minutes.
Billericay put on late pressure, but it all looked like coming to nothing until that marvellous Linger-Baker late show which keeps Town on the edge of the leading Premier pack.
This victory will give Billericay confidence if their third attempt at playing their second round FA Umbro Trophy replay at Hastings goes ahead today (Tuesday).
The Sussex side were beaten 1-0 at Dartford in the Dr Martens League eastern division on Saturday and the eventual winners of the Trophy tie will visit Ryman Division One outfit Bognor Regis.
Billericay face one of their top League contests of the season next Saturday when high-flying fellow Essex side Canvey Island come to New Lodge.
