Working alongside renowned artist Jayne Knowles captured the imagination of a group of eager youngsters at a Canvey school.
Children aged between seven and ten at Winter Gardens School in Hilton Road took part in the special display, named Journeys, to be shown at County Hall in Chelmsford.
During the workshops, children gained valuable experience by using new types of materials including themanipulation of wire.
Lisa Tattersall, art coordinator at Winter Gardens School, said: "It is going really well so far but there is still quite a lot of work for us to do.
"The children are absolutely loving every minute of it. They think that it is really special for someone to come in from outside the school to teach them art.
"It is also a bit different for them to work with new materials in different ways."
