A pedestrian was in intensive care on Saturday morning after being involved in a collision with a car in Braintree.
The 33-year-old man, from a village in the Braintree area, was walking along Courtauld Road on Friday evening when the collision happened.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital with serious injuries.
A Mitsuibishi Carisma was also involved in the incident.
