A man who drove while disqualified will be able to keep his Porsche motor car after appealing against a court order to take it away.
Dale Ingram, 35, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday to get the deprivation order revoked.
The court heard how Ingram was stopped by police in Charles Street, Colchester, in October after they recognised him as a disqualified driver.
He was arrested and appeared before Colchester magistrates where he admitted driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and being in possession of a flick knife.
Magistrates' sentenced him to three months in prison, disqualified him from driving for a further six months and ordered that his Porsche 944 be forfeited.
But Judge Peter Dedham ordered the depravation order be revoked because the value of the Porsche was not known.
The court heard that when a forfeiture order is made it is essential in law that the value of the goods are known.
