Matt Holland believes Ipswich Town's Worthington Cup farce at Maine Road - abandoned after 21 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch - should never have begun.
Stewart grabbed an early headed goal for Ipswich Town before Paul Dickov levelled the tie with an easy tap-in finish after a nice move involving Paulo Wanchope.
But the combination of a heavy downpour before kick-off, followed by more rain soon after the tie had got underway, persuaded Graham Poll to bring the players off before the first half had even reached its own halfway point.
Town skipper Matt Holland said: "It wasn't a proper game of football because you couldn't pass, run or dribble with the ball.
"The referee made the right decision but I don't think the game should have started in the first place."
The tie has been rescheduled for next Tuesday or Wednesday at Maine Road.
