ESSEX JUNIOR TROPHY THIRD ROUND
Old Brentwoods continued their fine start to the season with Saturday's 6-1 win over Potter Street Reserves .
The Old Boys were 3-1 ahead at the interval and added three more goals to run out convincing winners. Jay Denham (4) and Chris Beazley (2) netted the Old Brentwoods goals.
PREMIER DIVISION
Southminster recorded a narrow 2-1 home victory over bottom-of-the-table Outwood Common .
Southminster missed numerous chances throughout the game but led 2-0 at the break.
Danny Freeman was fortunate to deflect the first goal home, before James Bird cleverly lobbed in the second, and Darren Harding's strike rattled the crossbar from 30 yards while Outwood rarely troubled the home defence.
In the second half, in terrible playing conditions, Common came more into the game and reduced the arrears with five minutes to go with a goal from Tim Brown to set up a tense finish, but the Saints held on for their victory.
DIVISION ONE
Sandon Royals met Tillingham Hotspur Reserves , and the Royals won a seven goal thriler 4-3.
Gary Sonnex put the Royals ahead, before Tillingham scored three times to take a comfortable looking lead.
Sandon then introduced substitute Brian Payne and he netted a hat-trick to give Sandon the points.
DIVISION FOUR
Sedgwick were 4-1 up at the interval against UCC and ended up winning 5-2 to take over the leadership of the division.
Beard (2), Brown, Martin and Kerrison netted the Sedgwick goals, with Nick Gough scoring both the UCC goals.
