Teenage boxer Matt Jacobs is fighting for glory in the final of the National Association of Boys' Clubs Championships.
The 15-year-old is poised to become the most successful youngster in the history of Harwich Boxing Club.
But first he must beat Sunderland's Stuart Kennedy in today's (Friday's) showdown.
Matt, a Harwich School pupil, has already beaten reigning champion Harrow's Michael Smith in an earlier round of the under-16s and under-60 kilos weight division.
Coach Martin Webb is confident his protege, who has won five contests en route to the final, can go all the way and claim the title in Peterlee, County Durham.
He said: "Matt has come on leaps and bounds in the last three months. He's the best fighter we have and he's extremely dedicated.
"He's become technically very accomplished and with each round he's getting better and better. It's the first time in the club's four-year history a boxer has gone this far."
