A Chelmsford-based Health worker has been appointed as a Mental Health Act Commissioner by the Secretary of State for Health.
Felix Cofie, a team leader with the Chelmsford North Community Mental Health Team run by Mid Essex Community and Mental Health Trust, will take on a roving watchdog role.
He will be visiting hospitals, trusts and any other locations where people are receiving treatment for mental illness, to monitor the care and treatment being provided.
His patch will include London and East Anglia, although he will not be asked to carry out the watchdog role in the area where he is employed.
