A Colchester motorist was left injured and badly shaken following an unprovoked road rage attack in North Weald.
The 22-year-old suffered bruising and swelling to his face and head when he was beaten by two men.
The man was in his silver Vauxhall Vectra at the Talbot roundabout near the High Road in North Weald, near Epping, when he was involved in a minor collision with another car late last week.
Following collision the young man got out of his car and was confronted by a barrage of verbal abuse from the occupants of the other car.
They then attacked the young man before the two men and two women drove off in their silver Ford Fiesta XR2 which police say will have damage to the front and lights.
PC David Hughes of Ongar police station said: "This is a rather nasty incident which left a young man deeply upset."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Hughes on 01277 362013.
