Billericay pulled off the result of the day in Eastern Counties One with victory over the previously unbeaten leaders.

The club moved up to third spot as a result, just two points behind Upminster.

Billericay started with the forwards putting early pressure on the Upminster pack and were rewarded with a try from a rolling maul from Lee Jones.

Upminster hit back with a penalty, but more driving from Billericay led to their opponents killing the ball, leaving Neil Jarvis to slot over the resulting penalty for an 8-3 half-time lead.

Billericay's forwards once again dominated in the second half, but the Upminster full back slotted over another penalty to bring them close. Superb line-out work from Steve Clow was gaining Billericay an advantage and some savage tackling from Lawrence Hartney thwarted many Upminster attacks.

Jarvis notched his second penalty to give Billericay an 11-6 lead, but they were forced to defend as Upminster mounted sustained pressure on their try-line.

They were shaken but not stirred and the match was made safe when yet another Billericay drive was finished off by back row man Roger Moore.
