Burglars who struck at two Brentwood homes netted hauls of jewels and cash valued at around £21,000.
The first incident was in Ingatestone. Raiders forced a downstairs kitchen window to get in. They then collected a number of rings and 32 CD's before making their getaway. The value of the haul was estimated at £6,000.
The items stolen included: a pearl dress ring, an opal dress ring, a diamond solitaire engagement ring, an engagement band ring, a pair of pearl ear rings, a diamond ring, a sapphire and diamond eternity ring and a band ring.
In the second raid at Thorndon Avenue, West Horndon, thieves smashed a glass door pane to get in. They then took £1,800 in cash and high value rings and watches including two Rolex watches. Police put the value of the haul between £10,000 and £15,000.
