Southend United found their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow as they beat local rivals Canvey Island 2-1 during Sunday's FA Cup second round derby which gripped south Essex.
A capacity crowd braved driving winds and biting rain at Roots Hall as goals from Scott Forbes and Ben Abbey defeated Canvey, who grabbed a last minute consolation strike from Wayne Vaughan.
Blues' reward was a third round home draw, again against non-league opposition, with Football Conference strugglers Kingstonian coming to town on Saturday, January 6.
Southend United boss David Webb said: "Now we've got past Canvey we're in with a great chance of making the fourth round. The whole of Southend will be buzzing!"
Jeff King, manager of the Gulls, said: "All that's happened in the last few weeks has put Canvey in the spotlight for TV, radio and newspapers nationally at home and abroad.
"We've had the world's media focused on us and it's given a perfect illustration of the wonderful character of the whole place and now, just because it's ended for now, we mustn't let that spirit die.
"We sold over 4000 tickets to Canvey followers for this match nearly 3,000 watched us draw at home to Second Division Port Vale at our own Park Lane ground and 3,500 saw us win the replay with well over 500 of our own supporters making the trip."
