A big Boxing Day bash is on the cards for an accident victim who earlier this year was in a coma and had to have part of his brain removed.
Aarron Todd was last week moved near to his Harwich home from the Homerton Hospital in London where he was receiving specialist treatment.
He is now being cared for at the Tendring Meadows care home near Horsley Cross where elder brother Craig said he was "much happier".
Aarron, 27, was injured on the evening of January 8 when he was in collision with a VW Camper Van in West Street, Harwich.
As his brain swelled a large part of his skull had to be removed and a section of brain was removed by surgeons fighting to save his life.
His family maintained a bedside vigil until this summer when the former Harwich School pupil started to regain consciousness.
After treatment in London he has now returned to the Tendring district in time for Christmas.
Mum Jackie Bartlett and Craig are hoping to lay on a traditional family Christmas for Aarron before the Boxing Day party at the Queen's Hotel in High Street, Dovercourt.
