Budding cricketers from schools across Essex bowled over crowds at the County Ground, Chelmsford, for the England v South Africa women's international with a lunchtime demonstration.
Girls from Honywood School, Coggeshall, and The Harwich School, enjoyed a match of their own during a break extended by the morning rain.
Afterwards they had a chance to meet some of the victorious England players - they beat South Africa by 20 runs - and were given free T-shirts and caps.
Julie Cook, a PE teacher at The Harwich School, said: "It was a really enjoyable day. The girls were very enthusiastic and the crowd seemed to enjoy their display."
