Clearview Ladies won the Essex Intermediate Cup when the final was held at Woodford Wells on Sunday while Gidea Park men just missed out on winning the Essex Senior Cup when they lost out to Westcliff Hard.
Clearview ladies took the Intermediate Cup honours when they beat Essex Club 3-0 with one match unfinished.
In a day when the temperatures were taking a toll on the players the ladies tried not to stay on court any longer than necessary.
Catherine Norman and Liz Tyler won their two matches 6-1, 6-4, and 6-2, 6-3.
The other pair of Laura Bain and Kelly Philebrown won their first match 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 and were midway through the second when the match was called to a halt with victory secured.
Gidea Park men were hoping to add to their only other Essex Senior Cup triumph in 1987 and took on Westcliff Hard in their final.
It was a tough proposition and Gidea Park took their opponents all the way before losing out by one set on a countback.
Frenchman Mathiew Barrier teamed up with club coach Phil O'Leary to win their matches 6-2, 7-5 and 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
Second pair Cary Willson and Julian Lewis lost both their matches in straight sets despite having a 5-2 lead in one set.
Ongar ladies were runners up in the Ladies Junior Cup. They had beaten Aldersbrook to take their place in the final against Westcliff Law thirds.
They lost the match 4-0 although both Ongar pairs managed to win a set.
The Ongar team was Louise Needham-Didsbury, Hazel Murphy, Sue Hearn and Stephanie Davey.
The ladies Senior cup was retained by Connaught who beat Woodford Wells 4-0.d
David Lloyd (Chigwell) won the Mens Intermediate Cup beating Redbridge 21/2-11/2, while Essex Club won the Mens Junior Cup (Division One) beating Woodford Wells (III) 4-0.
The Mens Junior cup (Division Two) cup went to Danbury who beat Southend Lawn 4-0.
