Springfield churches are urgently seeking an empty warehouse or barn for the autumn where food for Eastern Europe can be stored.
Operation Harvest For the Hungry 2000 is part of EuroAid, a charity which has sent over 300 tonnes of food aid to eastern Europe in the last five years.
This year's Harvest thanksgiving aid parcels are planned for needy people in the Balkans who are still suffering from the effects of the war.
Residents are being asked to fill a box with non-perishable food, costing about £5. The appeal will be publicised in schools, churches and shops. But somewhere is needed to store the boxes before they are sent abroad. A warehouse or barn in the Springfield area which will be empty in September and October would be ideal.
