Extra places have been created on an activity club's summer programme of events - thanks to a cash pot of £15,000.
Christ Church Kids' Club has been awarded the money by the New Opportunities Fund - Out of School Childcare - Partnership.
The club, which is based at St John's Green School, Colchester, will use the money to buy equipment and pay for more staff to be employed.
Manager Jonathan Harvey said: "This money will enable more children, regardless of ability, to be able to access quality, varied and exciting childcare. Additional staff will be employed and more equipment purchased.
"Many children come back holiday after holiday and I'm pleased that more children will be able to join in the fun."
Two years ago the club - for young people between the ages of four and 14 - became the first provider of childcare in Essex to receive national accreditation.
It also provides two after-school clubs in Colchester and is a member of the town's Curriculum Vitae campaign.
Events already earmarked for this summer include trips to London, swimming at a beach, sports, crafts, cooking and theme days.
