The Grange Motors Shield Competition took place on Sunday on the Brentwood and Central Essex Bowling Green at King George's Playing Field.
The weather stayed fine as the 12 teams drawn from some of the clubs from the Brentwood & District Bowling Association took part in the day's play, each club providing a rink of men and a rink of lady bowlers.
The winners of the competition were: Brenda Colson, Brenda Burton, Pam Baker who were skipped by Barbara Morrish, who represented the Hartswood League, and their rink of men bowlers were John McColme, Stan Hawthorn and Roy King, who were skipped by Byron Davies, representing the Brentwood & District Bowling Association. The runners-up were Brentwood BC.
The competition Shield and individual plaques were presented by Mr Barry Cuthbert, the Director/Company Secretary who was accompanied by Mrs Anne Cuthbert.
