Forget hopscotch. Michaela Tedman was delighted to see her colourful millennium logo recreated in larger than life full colour on the school playground.
Michaela, ten, was just one of the pupils at Brightlingsea's infant and junior schools who took part in a competition which raised £282 for school funds.
The Millennium Coin Run competition was organised jointly by both Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) who asked pupils to design a millennium logo.
Michaela's winning logo was then drawn onto the playground of the junior school in Eastern Road, in colourful chalks and pupils were then invited to place a silver coin onto the design.
Deputy head teacher at Brightlingsea Junior school Sandra Parker said: "The children enjoyed it and we would really like to thank the PTA for all they have done."
"Each class went out in turn to place coins on the design and they then had their picture taken by it. Both schools took part in the competition and the money raised will be used to buy new equipment."
She added: "It was a really lovely school event and was very successful."
