Budding young artists are brightening up bland school walls by designing and painting colourful banners for display.
Youngsters at Templars County Junior School, Cressing Road, Witham, painted the banners as part of a school project focusing on using different styles and techniques in artwork.
Teacher Kerry Windsor said: "We've painted one banner in the aboriginal style using spot painting techniques and we've also painted a banner depicting the natural habitat of a pond, complete with frogs."
The banners will now go on proud display above the school stairs.
