A cyclist has died in a time-trial crash in Great Bromley.
Yesterday (Wednesday) friends and former colleagues paid tribute to the cyclist, who died after colliding with a Ford Transit van at Great Bromley.
The rider was taking part in an open ten-mile time-trial when he collided with the truck.
Insp Tony Dale, of Essex Police, said the keen cyclist collided with the van on the Colchester-bound carriageway of the A120 where the road is joined by the A133 at Great Bromley at about 8pm on Tuesday.
He was certified dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to anyone who saw the incident to contact Stanway Traffic Police on 01206 762512. This Is Essex is aware of the identity of the cyclist but has refrained from publishing his name, as it is understood some members of his family currently overseas have not yet been informed of his death.
